Hair- mostly for Megan!

Well, went to get my hair done. It took her 3 hours, I was her last appt. and I think she likes talking to me. She loves to talk, and we have a lot in common, our love of Christ, health and life philosophies. She is a born again Christian, I think I probably have opened her eyes to how much Mormons read the bible and talk about Christ. We have conversations not discussions about religion. So she tells me everything she is doing in her life. I know she could have been done in about 2 hours,(Megan was always done in about 1hour and 45 min.) but she had the time so she would stop and talk instead of doing my hair. Plus I think she is still getting used to my hair. It is funny to listen to her after she gets done coloring or cutting, she talks about how cute it is like I was the one that made it cute. I think it is good though that she can feel good about her work, after all that is what Christ and Adam did after they finished creating the earth! She knew I was going to see Megan after she did my hair the first time, so she asked me how Megan liked it. I could tell she was relieved that Megan was happy with my hair. She knows how much I trust Megan. These are pics after I did my hair a couple of days after I got it done. I know you will all say it looks the same, but to Megan it will probably look a little different. Well, here is the front, both sides and the back. The back looked cuter when she did it I need to work on that! When Megan cut it like this she did it better than I did also, I think the back is hard to do!

I am hoping to get done decorating by tomorrow night. I have the outside almost done and the inside about a third of the way done. I will take pics and blog when I am done. Love you all!!!

Creepy-cool moon! Piano leaving :-(

Tonight I stood up from watching Jay Leno and looked outside and saw the above. It was so amazing, I had to take a pic of it. The first one I took was with my regular lens and it was not at all what I was seeing with my eye, so I came back in the house got my telescopic lens (thank you Lizzie for getting me to finally take it out of my box and start using it!) and the above is what I got! Cool huh!

Today was a busy day, I got up very late, and then exercised, read my scriptures, and started decorating the porch. I started the other night after weight watchers inside, but the weather was so good today and is supposed to be good tomorrow. I felt really strongly I should go out and get the outside done. I got the house lights, pole lights and most of the porch done, it looks really cool. I have a few more things to do on the porch and then the bushes and fence. Then outside will be done and I can finish up on the inside. I am so excited that 4 of my grand kids are coming. I bought all these Santa's, for my grand kids and Steve and I and the older kids are the only ones that gets to enjoy them. I try to invite people over so I can at least share them with some people. And yes Megan Costco did come out with a new Santa, and I couldn't resist. Steve started telling me 4 years ago if I ever bought another Santa he would throw it in the ocean. He hasn't been able to do it, he falls in love with them also after he sees them. He will then threaten to throw any new ones in the ocean. The new one for this year he refused to take out of the van, it sat in the back seat for about 2 weeks, I finally brought it in.

As I was getting things out of the attic I saw this box that said candles. I thought it was strange as I didn't remember putting candles away in the attic. I brought it down and it was filled with cool candles from Pottery barn that I bought after Christmas for really cheap. They are the cool white house and tree ones. I had totally forgotten that I bought them. I bought some things similar from Costco this year, so obviously the new things will go back to Costco. Steve and I took 3 widows from our branch to the Newport musical, one of them told me how she bought 3 different bags of candy for a party at the church. Two of them she bought on the same day, forgetting that she bought the first two. I thought that is what I get to look forward too, I forgot something I bought a year ago, in about 25-30 years it will be on the same day!!! Scary, ha!

Thursday was a sad day. I gave my piano that I bought when Rebecca was a baby to my dad. He is going to keep it until Amy is ready for it if she lives here on the west coast or if she wants it. I bought it with my sewing money that I earned from my business doing alterations. It felt like I was giving away part of the family. I know it was the right thing, but it didn't make it any easier. I stood and looked at it and almost started crying. I got out the camera, took a pic of it, and then went into my room and journaled about my feelings. I thought as I looked at it about the amazing musicians it has helped to create, and about all the Christmas eve numbers. We have a lot more room and I will get over it!

Well, I love you all!!

Beatrix Potter

Tonight Steve and I watched the best movie, Miss Potter. We both recommend it. It was fun, romantic, sad, happy and well done. I know you will all like it!!

Jakes visit and Thanksgiving

Jake, Ruby and Miles came the weekend before Thanksgiving. Lyndsey needed a weekend home alone. I was happy for her to have the weekend off and to be able to make lots of jewelry uninterrupted. Every mothers dream! Ruby disappeared upstairs the first day she got there and came down looking like this! She said it was her scary witch lipstick! We had fun cooking Picking beautiful veggiesand playing on the beach! You can see remnants of Rubies scary lipstick!I love these!Miles liked the beach and the sand.Miles got tired, time to go in.Latter in the weekend, Jake and Ruby went out by their selves when Miles was asleep, I love the different moods of Ruby! She saw me finally, the spontaneous shots were gone!Sadly as all things do the weekend came to an end. Ruby went to church with us, she loves Primary, she made a cute turkey that told all the things she is thankful for. We love having our children and grandchildren come!
The next weekend was Thanksgiving. We had my Mom and Dad, Amy and Mike. It was great to have them all. It was a nice slow paced weekend. We ate, and ate, and ate some more. My mom and dad left on Saturday morning, and Amy and I went to the big city of Lincoln City! I was very excited as we were going to Joanne's , a rare and great treat for me, I saved $321.49. I saved more than I spent! I bought everything from decorations (I don't have enough! ha!!) to fabric, notions, and lots of thread. We had soooo much fun. I got Amy a few things also. Our greatest surprise came at the cash register, we bought some serger thread and found out it was a dollar off, plus 20% more! The lines were about 20 people deep, so we came back later and got some more. Then Walmart, another treat for me, and lastly we went to Twilight! I was expecting nothing so was greatly rewarded for my low expectations. I loved it!!! I will buy it and watch it again. I realize that it isn't an academy award winning movie, but I enjoyed it. I think it was a combination of never getting to go to the movie theatre and my low expectations.
It was a great day for me. I felt like a little kid after going to an amusement park. We also sewed some on Friday. I broke my serger needle plate, not the first time! A flawed part in my opinion! 62.00! When they called me back with the quote, he acted like I may not want it because of the price, I said well I can't sew without it! All in all a great weekend. I have called and had my book shipped from the Newport Library to Waldport for the book club. I am excited to read a new author! Love you all!
