I took two friends with me on my boat for tuna fishing on Saturday. We came back to port with 28 tuna. You read that right 28 as in twenty eight. This is definitely a good time to be redundant. The tuna weighed between 20 and 30 lbs each and they are very hard fighters. A tuna is very aerodynamic and built for speed. I am told they can swim 70 mph. We had 612 lbs of tuna fish on board of my 22 foot boat. Plus the weight of the ice. We had so many coolers full of ice on board it was like a gauntlet to try to walk from the front of the boat to the back. My beloved wife was up to 2:30 in the morning canning tuna and didn't get anywhere near done. The more she worked I noticed she started having a little bit of an attitude. I call it the "tuna tude". I think if I went again soon and threw another 10 or 15 tuna on the counter top it could jeapodize my marriage.

Steve you're hilarious!! Congrats on your plentiful tuna expeditions! What an awesome wife you have, too!
haha- you are so funny Dad. Good job on the fish! You really do have talent out at sea. Mom is amazing too-for canning all that fish! My goodness that's a lot. Good job anyhow. I love you and can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
Dad you are so funny! Man- that is amazing you caught so much Tuna! That is amazing! Did the boat sink further into the water than it usually does because of all the weight? Are you going to give some Tuna away to friends since you can't eat all of it in a year? I bet that was a real work-out pulling them up and killing them, if they're fighters. I bet your muscles are getting bigger. I love the tuna tude. hahha. You sure are lucky you have mom to can all of it. And she's really lucky to have a great fisherman. I can't wait to taste it! Keep blogging dad- you are so funny! I love you!
This trip I drove the boat the whole time because my two friends did not know where to go to catch the fish. I decided to let them have the fun and reel the fish in while I trolled the boat where the fish are. I told them we would just divide up the catch between the 3 of us. It turned out to be 9 for each of them and 10 for me since it was my boat. The time before that when I went out alone and brought in 9 (I was driving the boat, bleeding the fish, icing the fish, putting the line back out, and cleaning the boat pretty much all at the same time). It was easier having a little crew on board.
WOW Dad, that is a lot of fish. A little bit of a fish overload I would say. But the thing is, is you're just going to get more! You're going to have to buy a new freezer! You should go into business and sell them to the local market. Well, fun for you. I love you Dad.
70 miles an hour? That's incredible. I had no idea that fish could swim so fast. Your post is really funny Dad. I like it when you post. Congratulations on all that Tuna. I think it's interesting that your strong enough to pull in all those Tuna, but you moan, groan an grunt every time you carry my suitcase up the stairs. Explain that for me Papa.
That was a good one Lizzie! Well Dad, you are an incredible fisherman, and mom- you are a great wife! You make a good pair. Maybe while you're at it, you could make some chocolate chip tuna cookies, or some tuna brownies. You're gonna have to find some way to use all that tuna! That is so much! The picture of all the cans on the table looks really cool, where the heck are you going to put the cans? Well, whenever you need to give a nice present to someone at the last minute you'll always have a backup with your tuna. I love you! Great job!
